The Cross country

On Friday 25 May our school did the cross country. We had to dress up in our house colours my house colour is red. After morning tea we it was time to do the cross country. First 7 year olds, then 8 year olds, 9 year olds and finally my age group 10/11 year olds. We all lined up, people keep going over the start line because they were so eager. Then all of a sundder 3,2,1 GO!!. First down the steep hill. Then up a steep hill. I was just cruising along then suddenly 5 people passed me. I speed up as fast as I could I got passed them. I was really trying to beat my friend this year because when we do the practise I only beat him by like 10 metres. 500 metres to go i am beating him by 4 metres then suddenly he got a minor asthma attack I stopped went back walk a bit with him that didn't matter because I was beating the rest of the people by about 100 metres. I think I was coming about 8th at the time then he said "you can go on" So I did I got back I was not sure what I came but my friend Dylan came 1st ever since year 1 he has come 1st. I saw my friend come in he was alright he went home early. It was so fun. By Thomas

Tread Lightly Caravan

This Term we have been learning about Renewable Energy.That means stuff like Solar Power.Yesterday some people came to teach us about Renewable Energy.My favourite activity was when we got to go on a bicycle and try and power up appliances the lights were easy but the jug was so hard. Now I know how much energy it takes to power up a jug.
We also looked at stuff about the planet and pollution.
They told me that it takes 1 million years to break down a computer.
We played a game like snakes and ladders but with geckos. We had to answer questions about the planet I won in my group because of luck.We used a microscoe to look at nature it was so fun

Oteha Valley Schools Twilight Gala

On Friday afternoon at 4.30 pm I came to school. It was like a carnival. I went to the haunted house straight away. I went in with Dylan. As soon as we stepped in we heard screaming. It was so dark. People jumped out of the middle of nowhere. Dylan fell over and people started stepping on him (Ouch!) Then we came out. Next I went on the super SKOF slide, just like the one at Lollipops. It took a long time to go up. After that I did Smash the Plate. You are suppose to smash the plate with a cricket ball. I got a lollipop because I hit the plates. My friend and I went to the silent auction and he won Rainbows End tickets for $65. I did other fun stuff and then went home.

Can You Guess How I Am Feeling?

We have been learning to describe our feelings without telling the reader

I told myself not to look down, I was at Tree adventures. I was so high up my hands were shaking. I thought the plank would collapse and the harness would break and I would fall. I felt like I was 100 metres in the air but I was only like 40 metre high. My head had a picture of nothing. I did not know what was going on. My friend Jordan helped me across; I was so relieved that I made it across.
